supported flexible working options; as a result,
most employees are eligible to work partially from
home, depending on role, regulatory restrictions
and location, as well as divisional or functional
requirements. For employees with hybrid-working
arrangements, regular in-office days promote team
building, collaboration and a sense of belonging,
all of which are key to integrating our businesses
and shaping a unified identity and culture. And,
options to work in flexible locations or with
flexible hours, part-time working, job-sharing and
partial retirement help us attract – and retain –
a larger and more diverse workforce, including
early-career talent, working parents and those in
continuing education. The emphasis on technology
and virtual collaboration also spark the kind of

We care about our employees, and we’re committed to supporting them. Spanning social, physical, mental and financial well-being, our comprehensive health and well-being offering includes a wide range of programs, benefits, eLearning and workplace resources. All are designed to help our employees manage their health, foster well-being and promote the organization’s sustainability. Over the past year, we’ve particularly focused on helping employees across our combined organization adapt to changes related to the integration of Credit Suisse, including offering instructor-led sessions on resilience and on managing organizational change and uncertainty.
To promote physical and mental health, we sponsor
firm-wide initiatives like virtual fitness
challenges and provide mental health support that
includes an employee assistance program and free
access to a specialized mindfulness app. We became
a founding partner of #WorkingWithCancer in 2023
to better support employees affected by cancer. We
also sponsored financial education events in every
region and helped employees positively impact
their communities by matching charitable donations
and offering paid leave to volunteer in community
and environmental initiatives.
At UBS, we understand that good work / life balance is pivotal to our employees’ overall wellbeing and to their job satisfaction, and therefore productivity. That’s why we work hard to ensure that our employees, whatever their needs, are supported throughout the employee lifecycle. Our employee benefits (which often go beyond what’s legally required) and award-winning programs make sure we’re able to do just that.
We actively support hybrid working options (a mix of home and in-office working) and flexible working arrangements (e.g., part-time, job-sharing and partial-retirement roles). In all locations, comprehensive employee assistance programs help employees manage issues like stress, illness, personal conflict, finances, bereavement, mental health and elder care. We also offer generous paid parental leave and beyond that, paid family-care leave in many locations globally.
Families
Globally, UBS's benefits help employees improve
their own well-being and the well-being of their
families, including parents, step-parents,
children, siblings, partners, and any other family
members. We also have regional policies, programs
and initiatives to help employees better manage
their work and family commitments. Here are some
examples:

In our major locations, primary caregivers are
offered a paid leave between 20 to 30 weeks,
while non-primary caregivers are offered between
four to 20 weeks.
- Our enhanced adoption and maternity leave policy in the UK offers full pay for up to 26 weeks. We also offer enhanced "shared parental leave" for eligible parents to get more flexibility in sharing the care of their new child and to receive enhanced shared parental pay for up to 26 weeks.
- In the US and Puerto Rico, UBS provides 20 weeks of gender-neutral paid leave to care for the birth, adoption or foster care placement of a child. This gives everyone equal access to 20 weeks of parental leave and, if both partners work for UBS, they can both take up to 20 weeks of leave.
- In Spain, we have enhanced our paternity leave offering to four weeks and introduced reimbursement for emergency childcare.
- We have enhanced paid maternity leave to a minimum of 20 weeks across APAC locations, with some regions surpassing this in either paid or unpaid flexible options.
- We have increased and aligned non-primary carer leave across most APAC locations to 30 days and increased flexibility for how the leave can be utilized.
- UBS UK partners with Bright Horizons to pay for up to 10 sessions of backup care per year, which can be used across emergency childcare, school holiday cover and backup adult & eldercare.
- The Bright Horizons Care Advantage Program in the US offers backup/emergency childcare, including Care Advantage benefits and additional family support through an online database of regular caregivers.
- Employees in the US are provided coverage for voluntary, non-medically necessary egg retrieval and up to one year of freezing/cryopreservation for all employees enrolled in a UBS medical plan.
- We have increased our support for breastfeeding mothers, adding lactation rooms in locations in the US and Singapore and paid time off for breastfeeding in many locations globally, including for up to two years after the birth of a child in Spain.
